Paws get burned too!

Asphalt, sidewalks and sand that have baked in the sun can cause paws to burn. Most dogs are so excited to go for a walk with their favorite human they may not let you know the surface they are walking on is burning their paws until its too late. It’s a good idea to check out the temperature of the walking surface with your hand before walking your dog. The best time of day to walk is either early morning or during the evenings. If possible keep to the cool grass for walks. Check paws when you get home to make sure they are in good shape and there are no inflamed, peeling or bleeding areas.
