What are Cat Allergies?

Allergies are the most common illnesses affecting cats. They are caused by changed lifestyles, including food and environment. Cat allergies are characterized by the body's abnormal reaction to internal or external stimuli and are caused by many different factors. Allergic reactions can be different from one cat to another, even for the same allergen (agent). Sometimes, these allergens are in the cat’s own body, causing the body to react against itself such as in auto-immune diseases. It is important to try to find the cause for cat allergies, even though it can be difficult. Along with working towards finding the cause, the use of herbs is recommended to ease the symptoms, and also to strengthen the immune system.

• Skin problems (the most common evidence of allergic reaction)
• Eruptions, redness and itchiness of the skin and swelling of the affected area

 Ingredients

Milk Vetch: tonic; nutritive; stimulates liver function; improves immune system; well accepted in cases of auto-immune diseases.

Purple Coneflower: contains an important variety of polysaccharides with immunostimulant activities, reduces inflammation; inhibits bacterial formation of hyaluronidase; induces production of interferon; promotes lymphocyte activities and stimulates phagocytosis; alterative.

Oregon Grape: contains alkaloids (berberine, berbamine, hydrastine), resins and tannins; has demonstrated antibiotic and immunostimulatory activities.

Asian Ginseng: adaptogen; increases organic resistance to diseases; improves appetite and promotes cell regeneration.

Myrrh: antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, astringent; controls bacterial infection (antibiotic action) and enhances healing.

Dosage

To be administered to cat twice daily. One drop per 2 lb (1 kg) of body weight up to 50 lb (25 kg). Thereafter add one drop per additional 4 lb (2 kg).
