About cat ear mites
Mites spend most of their life living inside your cat’s ear. Because outward signs are not always apparent, it is important to have your vet check your cat’s ears at each regular check up. If untreated, cat ear mites can cause cat ear infection because bacteria will have access to the ear tissue through holes made by the mites. Because the cat ear mites are irritating, many cats will scratch which can cause reinfestation through the paws or tail. Continued scratching can lead to bald patches where hair is torn out and even bleeding. At worst, the infection can spread to the brain, where it can even cause convulsions or death.
Common Symptoms of Cat Ear Mites
- Ear scratching
- Head shaking
- Dark substances similar to coffee grounds

Comments about NHV ER Drops for Cat Ear Mites:
The ER Drops were very effective in stopping pain in my 6 week old kitten, whose earmites undoubtedly came from her mother. Calico was crying and rubbing her ears on a Sunday night as I was preparing to leave for my work week. I applied 2 doses into each ear, and she calmed down quickly. She was fine until the following Sunday, over a week ago now, and 2 consecutive doses again did the trick, and this past weekend she seemed fine. I haven't treated her beyond those two days. I also treated her mother, with apparent success.

Directions
Place two to three drops in each eardrum then apply a cotton earplug. This should be repeated twice daily. Eardrops are more effective if slightly warm to the touch. Insert the sealed tincture bottle in warm water for five minutes, and then test a drop on the back of your hand. Drops should be lukewarm (you don’t want to burn the cat ear canal).
Product will last for 6 months after opening. Please keep refrigerated.

Question:
Hi- Will this product actually get rid of ear mites, meaning kill off all stages including the eggs? Even if perhaps it takes sev months of treatment to kill the eggs once they mature to adult stage.... I would love to know if this will def take care of a cat ear mite problem as I've let my conventional vet treat a kitty I rescued once with Ivermectin. I'm not sure i spelled that right but the point is I didn't feel good about using that the first time. We had a clean slide, meaning no sign of ear mites but they've come back without exposure to any other animals so obviously the Ivermectin didn't take care of the mites fully and it made me cringe to use it at all. I would love something I feel safe about using but I need something that will help this sweet little kitty stop itching please. I'd appreciate an answer to my ques and welcome any addt'l info you might provide, thanks very much. ~animal lover, sherry:)Asked on 12/15/2011 by Anonymous from Brentwood, TN1 answer

Question:
Can ER be used for gum infections? What is Neem?Asked on 10/18/2011 by Anonymous from Laurel, Montana1 answer
Answer:
ER Drops is specifically formulated to target ear mites and cannot be used for gum infections. Neem is an herb that is a powerful blood purifier; detoxifier; strong antiviral, antifungal and has antibacterial properties. For gum infections I would highly recommend our Mouth Drops product found here: http://www.petwellbeing.com/products/cat-bad-breathAnswered on 10/18/2011 by Customer Care from CSR Office
