What is Cat Heart Disease
Cats don't suffer from heart attacks the way people do, heart disease appears in other forms and is quite common in cats.
- Anemia
- Irregular pulse
- Heart murmurs
- High cholesterol
- Thickening of heart muscle
Some of these problems stem from defects found at birth. Others are symptoms of advanced age.
Common Symptoms of Feline Heart Disease
- Persistent coughing
- Swelling in abdomen
- Reduced energy levels
- Difficult, labored breathing
- Reduced weight or appetite
- Discolored (blue/gray) gums
If you think your cat is suffering from heart disease, you should consult with a veterinarian. It's easy to confuse symptoms of feline heart disease with other conditions.
Traditional treatments for heart disease in cats
- Vasodilators to lower blood pressure
- Digoxin and other drugs to control heartbeat
- Diuretics, to control sodium levels and water retention
Our customers have the last word…
"It is with great sadness that I put my best friend to sleep on 2/28/07. TJ was diagnosed with a high 5 heart murmur (6 is fatal) in Sept of 2006, and the vet said he had two months. I did a lot of homework on this defect, and began him on your products in October. I sincerely believe that your products gave us an additional 3 months with him. Every time I took him in for a re-check, the vet was amazed at his quality of life and told me not to change anything I was doing."

Hearty Heart did wonders for our cat Buddy. It provided us with magnificant results that we would have never seen otherwise. Although he was diagnosed with "horrible" heart disease at a young age of 5 years, when we started him on Hearty Heart, within a week, he was back to his normal self. Hearty Heart gave us 8 more wonderful weeks with Buddy. The results were amazing. Thank you.

What an amazing product. We thought we were going to have to spend hundreds of dollars to make our cat well and live a good life, but with Hearty Heart it gave him a whole new lease on life. In just a few days, every aspect about him changed. He doesn't sleep as much and has much more energy. He plays with our Chocolate Lab like he was a puppy himself. Thank you so much!!!

Comments about NHV Hearty Heart for Cat Heart Disease:
My little girl's name is Tara. She is a white shorthair/part Persian little kittie. She is approximately 4 ½ years old and has a brother, Snowball, who is a white longhair kittie.
Tara was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomopathy (HCM) back in June of this year. All of a sudden we noticed she was getting thin and she was "hiding" on the other side of the house, not wanting to do anything. She didn't even want to run around the house with her brother, which is her favorite thing to do. We thought she had a fever or cold. She was SO sad and lethargic. We took her to the vet and they put her on antibiotics, figuring it was a fever or cold. They told us to come back in a few days if she didn't get better.
Well, we took her back and they did more tests and took an X-ray and saw that her heart walls were thickened and she had water around her heart. They said she has HCM. My husband and I were so upset. The vet said that she would probably only live a couple of more years. She is on 3 medications – Benazepril, Atenolol and Furosemide. My husband was looking on the internet for additional things that might help Tara and found your product, Healthy Heart. We immediately purchased 2 bottles and started giving it to her daily, in her food. After a while we started to see our Tara up to her old tricks – running around with her brother and out in the screen room "hunting" for lizards. We just took her back for a check-up earlier this month and got an excellent report. Her breathing is great and the water around her heart has lessened. Tara is back to her normal self, and I believe that the Healthy Heart has helped Tara's overall health and heart disease.
I will continue to give her the Healthy Heart indefinitely. Attached is a picture of Tara and her brother. Tara is on the right

Comments about NHV Hearty Heart for Cat Heart Disease:
My beautiful 3 year old cat Duchess woke me up one morning and wasn't able to stand up straight. I took her to the vet and they began to tell me that Duchess had heart problems and would need $1800.00 worth of tests done. I just got married, and don't have that kind of money to spend on my cat, as much as I would like to. I had heard about Hearty heart through a friend, and I cannot explain the wonders it has done for her. She has the vitality of a kitten, and is more playful than ever! I love that not only was it affordable, but all natural. I'm not going to lie, the smell is something to get used to, but Duchess being happy is well worth it!

Comments about NHV Hearty Heart for Cat Heart Disease:
The vet diagnosed my cat Mango with a congenital heart disease, leaving him with an enlarged heart that has trouble contracting. This would cause my cat to have trouble breathing, he would not be able to even walk 4-5 feet without stopping to breath. While the vet's prescribed medications helped a little, the vet told us we may lose our little friend within 2 weeks. I immediately searched for any kind of remedy I could find, and found this product.
Mango is not even 2 years old yet, so he was a very energetic cat before his disease got the better of him. He would constantly play, search for things, play with water, eat any cat food, etc. This all halted with the first signs of his disease. When I administered this product, within a day, he was at least 50% of his former self. He was walking around my room, sniffing things, jumping in the bathtub to play with the water. The next day he was playing again. It's been 1 week since I started his treatment with this product, and I say my cat is at 80% of his former self. He runs, plays, eats, and is generally very happy. I prayed for a miracle to at least help my cat live a happier longer life aside from his disease, and this product is proving to be working great. Other than it being a little bit bitter to the taste for Mango, this little guy will live to see his 2nd birthday next month, and hopefully many to come. If anything, this product is easing and lessening the burden of the inevitable.
I highly encourage anybody who feels helpless or is looking for anything to help their cat through their suffering, to try this product. Cats come from nature, and so does this product, it can do things that modern medicine can't do.

Comments about NHV Hearty Heart for Cat Heart Disease:
I was looking online for remedies to help with my 9 year old cat's cardiomyopathy. I came across Hearty Heart. My vet didn't know about it, but since it has hawthorne in it, he said it might help. I've been using it for quite a long time. Ferdi also has asthma and hyperthyroidism (the latter may have contributed to his heart condition), as well as arthritis, so he's on a few meds, poor guy. I am using Hearty Heart along with Co Q10 and fish oil, to help support his prescription meds. He takes it mixed into his food, and he shows no adverse effects whatsoever. Athough I don't know for sure exactly how much it's doing, my sense is that it does help him.
He seems pretty happy and healthy considering what all he has going on!

Comments about NHV Hearty Heart for Cat Heart Disease:
I originaly purchased the Hearty Heart for my 16 yr old kitty, Tiggy, as he was diagnosed with a heart murmer in addition to having elevated liver enzymes and Pacreatitus. He also suffered 2 strokes recently which initially left his hind quarters paralyzed but I helped him to start putting his weight on them and although he looks like a crab when he is trying to outrun Mom & the medicine, with the Hearty Heart, he actually does outrun me.
When I saw the improvement in Tiggy, I started giving it to Harley, my 12 yr old Collie Shepherd who also is having heart issues and she also has perked right up.
All the formulas that I have used in the past couple years have been easy to give and very effective. I would recommend any of them to anyone who wishes to give their pets the best care.

Comments about NHV Hearty Heart for Cat Heart Disease:
I put the drops on raw hamburger. A homeopath suggested raw meat or raw fish which is great for mixing the drops in and my cat only eats food that way now. I appreciate that his breathing has improved and has more energy. He is a 14 yr old cat with high thyroid numbers and he is also taking the Pet Wellbeing drops for thyroid as well. He is doing remarkably well.

Comments about NHV Hearty Heart for Cat Heart Disease:
My 11 year old diabetic Chartreux was recently diagnosed with a heart murmur:(
She seems more sprightly and present than before use - treating her with Hearty Heart and Mellitus.
I feel it's too soon to really comment; perhaps I should give a definitive review upon the second bottle purchased.
It's certainly not hurting anything and all the herbs present are in proper concentrations and are indeed the herbs that herbalists would 'prescribe' for such circumstances.

I just started using the Hearty Heart about two weeks ago so it is a little early to tell if it's helping much but I do believe my cat acts as though he feels better. He is being more social and just seems happier. That is worth alot.

Question:
My 15 year old cat was just diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. The vet wants to put him on beta blockers. Without it, he only has an estimated 3-6 months to live. I am concerned about the harsh chemicals and medication side effects, but I am also worried that he may be too far gone to benefit from the natural hearty heart therapy. What are your thoughts?Asked on 1/7/2012 by Shelly from Texas1 answer

Our Hearty Heart is usually recommended for pets that have minor heart issues. In the case of your pet it sounds as if the damage may be to extensive to be of benefit. Question:
Hello,
My cat was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (no taurine deficiency) instead of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, so instead of thickening of the heart walls, his are actually thinner. Will this product work as well for this condition? Also, the vet prescribed vetmedin and furosemide. Are there contraindications for these medicines and your product? Thank you.Asked on 12/13/2011 by Kathy1 answer
Answer:
Hearty Heart is our herbal formula for heart disease in cats; it helps to regulate heart rate and circulation through the chambers of the heart to relax spasms and palpitations. It contains lobelia and pulsatilla which help to allow oxygenated blood to flow freely from the heart to the rest of the body, which helps aid in alleviating coughing due to cardiovascular conditions. Overall, the herbs in this formula are known to help support heart functions and strength, especially in the case of an existing heart condition. This supplement, however, is not recommended to be used in conjunction with conventional heart medications. From this contraindication, I would not recommend using it in conjunction with Vetmedin. Furosemide is considered a 'loop diuretic' drug... so I'd suggest consulting with your vet first. You can print out the list of ingredients on our website and consult your veterinarian if you have concernsAnswered on 12/14/2011 by Anonymous

Question:
My female cat is 18 and has a thyroid tumor causing hyperactive thyroid which also caused hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She is very loud at night so the vet thought she might have kitty dementia, also cataracts. So she is on Tapazole, Amlodopine, Fluoxetine, Buprenorphine for pain in her legs, etc. and Lactulose, Tonic Lax and Vetasyl fiber for constipation. Could she take this will all these meds? She often gets palpitations and irregular heartbeats, gets scared and very loudly lets me know a few times through the night.Asked on 10/26/2011 by Mare from Canada1 answer
Answer:
The only known contraindication for Hearty Heart is that it should not be used in conjunction with conventional heart medications due to the specific blend of herbal ingredients in this formula. Since she is taking multiple medications at the moment, I would suggest printing out the information online on Hearty Heart and consulting with your veterinarian about adding this item into her supplement/medication routine. This way, your veterinarian and yourself will be able to monitor her progress while on the treatment.Answered on 10/26/2011 by Customer Care from CSR Office
