Additional Support
If your cat is suffering from any form of kidney disease, you must see your vet to discuss conventional treatment options such as.
- Various medications
- Kidney transplants.
- Intravenous fluid treatment
- Dialysis (artificial blood filtering)
Also be sure to ensure your cat is getting plenty of fresh water. A low sodium and reduced protein diet is often recommended for this condition.
What is Kidney Disease
Kidney problems are among the top causes of illness and death in older cats.
Two common types of cat kidney problems are:
- Chronic renal (kidney) failure
- Kidney stones
Renal (kidney) failure, as its name implies, is when the kidney fails to do its job, which is to concentrate the urine and cleanse the blood.
Renal failure can be acute or chronic. Acute kidney failure is usually the result of a cat drinking a toxin. If the cat survives the initial trauma, it is often reversible. Chronic kidney failure sneaks up more gradually.
Common Symptoms of feline renal (kidney) disease
- Poor coat
- Loss of appetite
- Depression and/or vomiting
- Presence of blood in the urine
- Increased frequency of urination
Kidney stones are mineral deposits that from in a cat's kidneys. They irritate the bladder lining and can even block a cat's urinary tract, causing pain and difficulty in urination.
Poor diet, including high sodium (salt) intake is one cause of kidney stones. Pets that have excessive mineral content in the diet are more likely to be affected.
Does this formula contain any diuretics?
Although an herb may have a slight diuretic effect it is not used as a diuretic in this formula. The combination of the other herbs in the formula help balance out the diuretic effect. For any of these herbs to work as a diuretic they would have to be taken as single herb at a different dosage or would have to be combined with other herbs that also work as diuretics.
Our customers have the final word...
Hello! I am SO HAPPY to have heard about your product! Being told your pet is "dying of acute adrenal failure" following a blood test can be devastating. Thank God I went to the internet for more info and up popped Tripsy! Albert (my seven year old cat) is doing just fine. He has gained weight, and continues to have a healthy appetite. We are on our third bottle and I could not be more grateful!
Thank You!
Carol

I purchased Tripsy for my sixteen year old cat,Calico. The vet said that she was in kidney failure. She now takes two doses of Tripsy per day. Calico is back to her old self: purring, grooming, and she has a shiny coat. I am so glad that I found your website. Thank you for offering such a wonderful product! I do have a question. The bottle is rather large, and I am afraid that it will expire before it is all used. Can Tripsy be safely frozen?
Thank you so much!

“All my life I have had cats but before now, none of them have had kidney disease. My current cat, Brit, is a kind, gentle animal who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. Being a bit of a health food, natural product, environmentally aware kind of girl, my first thought was to seek out some natural products to give to Brit. After a brief search I came across Tripsy on your website. After reading the details and potential benefits I decided this was what I was looking for. I was right! It worked like a charm and I can’t thank you enough. Brit is picking up nicely and that tells me Tripsy really helped!”

"Hi, about a year ago we turned to you for help for our cat Buster who just recently celebrated his 20th Birthday. My friend Gisela firmly believes that your Hearty Heart and Tripsy helped him a lot and he is much better now than a year ago. I just want to thank you and I'm sending to you a couple of pictures of him eating a tomato (happen to like tomatoes)."

"I just want to say thanks for such a wonderful supplement. Dickens was diagnosed last October, 2007 with chronic kidney disease and his lab results were not very good. I took him to the vet's and left him there for intravenous therapy for three days, they force-fed him by inserting a tube in his throat for the duration of his stay. When I got him home he was so sick I was pretty worried that he may not have a long time left and what time he did have I wondered what the quality would be like. I started to force feed him myself by putting his special diet food on my thumb and pushing it up onto the roof of his mouth. He allowed me to do this several times a day a little each time. I decided that since he was not a huge fan of this process that I would feed him twice a day. He started to pick up and then finally your product arrived and he has steadfastly improved. He eats on his own but I still feel more comfortable making sure that he has enough in him so I continue to feed him once a day, maybe twice if he has only picked at his food. He is happy and so am I, so again, Thanks!
Sharon"

"When I received the diagnosis I researched it and found Tripsy on your site and read good things about it. Since I've started her on Tripsy she has been doing very well."
"Boots was in decline until I started him on the Tripsy medication. He lived for 1 more year, but the disease continued to advance and he passed away 3 weeks ago. I am still very appreciative of the extra time we had to spend with him, before he went off to cat heaven."
"With the daily dose of Tripsy along with sub-q fluids (Ringer's 2-3X/week), the quality of Julie's life was improved and supported to the extent that she lived nearly a year longer than the veterinarian projected as possible. Until the night before she died, Julie was interested in her surroundings, her four-legged buddies, and food...esp. tunafish. I'm just grateful for all the time we had with her."

This product has turned my cats life around. He started out by urinating all over my house. He had two litter boxes and is an only cat. Then he just did not seem to have any energy. He was literaly laying in his water bowl to drink. When he finally got up, his whole mouth, chin and chest would be drenched with water. He started to look like a street cat instead of my beautiful Himalayin. My husband and I took him to the vet with our concerns. We were told his Kidneys were failing and that we needed to change his diet to Renal LP for Kidneys. We were also told that he was drinking alot because of this, hence the urinating all over the house which meant that they wanted us to intraveniously give him fluids under his skin with a needle. Well I can tell you right now, that would have not happened with him.
We decided not to do the things the vet was telling us and just try to keep him comfortable until he passed away. We came home from the vet that day feeling defeated. I decided to do some research on the disease to fully understand what was going on in his body when I came across the Tripsy link and clicked on it. I started to read all the reviews and realized that all these people were discribing the same symptoms and that this wonderful product had changed their cats life around.
My husband and I decided to try Tripsy because we felt that it may be a shot in the dark but why not, what do we have to lose. Our baby was dying slowly.
We ordered it, recieved it promptly and started giving it to him. Within a week he started perking up and becoming more of the frisky cat we had known in the past. He has more energy and has quit laying in his water dish. He now drinks like a normal healthy cat and runs around the house like a playful kitten. His appetite is back to normal and he has also quit urinating all over my house. I have cleaned the rugs and now my house smells good again. I was cleaning them literally every couple of weeks before because of the smell.
I am eternally grateful to Tripsy for this.
I am sorry if I have wrote a book, but our baby is back and we are all happy!
We have not been back to the vet yet, it has been about 1 month on Tripsy and 45 days since we last seen the vet initially. We plan on taking him back, but not anytime soon.
Thank You so much Tripsy!

hope it's not too late for our 16 year old tigger. he is like our son. very active for his age. i do see him slowing down some. he was diagnosed with early kidney failure. witch is 80-85% of his kidneys arent working correctly. i think it may be more. i read the reviews about tripsey, and had to try. he was vommiting quite a bit, but now for 4 weeks, he has had more good days than bad. maybe 4 to 1. that one day he vommits, hides, and does not eat much. the next day, he is brand new again. i don't understand, the vet can't say anything else but renal failure, inevitably his demise. how much time.all cats are different they say. well, we will enjoy him as long as he doesn't suffer.love him as long as he loves back. and he has a bunch of love.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
I found Tripsy on line about 6 months after my then, 16 year old Himalayan cat, Nikko, was diagnosed with the start of possible kidney problems. The medicine the vet had prescribed did nothing to help and his next visit showed my cat's levels a little higher. About this time, I found out about Tripsy, and started giving Nikko the twice daily dose in his food. Soon after, I noticed his appetite had increased, as well as his activity level (he had been a little lethargic the weeks prior), and he now didn't seem to have the constant urge to drink water. I couldn't believe his overall change! He is now 18, still loves to play with string and he couldn't be doing better! Tripsy is a wonder drug, and with all natural ingredients. The last 2 times my cat has been to the vet showed that his kidney levels were remarkedly improved - they had gone way down, instead of up, and I had even discontinued giving Nikko the prescription from the vet 6 months ago, giving him only Tripsy. My vet was amazed at his progress, and keeps the information on Tripsy in Nikko's file, to tell other pet owners about it. Nikko's last visit to the vet was this past week, showing another improvement in his kidney functions, and my vet states that Nikko is in wonderful health for an 18 year old cat. I am so thankful that I came across Tripsy in researching remedies for kidney disease. At his rate, I am sure I will have Nikko with me for many years to come! Thank you Tripsy!! :)

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
My 18 year old male cat, Gizmo was diagnosed with kidney failure in Jan 2011. My vet gave him about 3 months to live without costly treatment. I researched kidney failure on the net and came up with your site and your product Tripsy for kidney disease in cats. I decided it was worth a shot; we had nothing to lose at that point. Here we are a year later and Gizmo is doing very well - even my vet is amazed. I have had to add pain medication because he also has kidney stones but I just mix it into the Tripsy and it all goes down easy. His strength is beginning to fail and he is getting a bit frailer but he is now 19!! I firmly believe he would have been dead a year ago if it hadn't been for Tripsy so a HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU for formulating these products and giving us a "natural" alternative.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
My cat was diagnosed with renal failure on Dec. 31, 2011. The prognosis was bad and we were devestated. We found Tripsy through research on the internet and he has been on it twice a day for 2 weeks now. Before Tripsy he was losing the use of his back legs, would not eat so he was losing weight and he was depressed. Now he not only has use of his back legs again he's jumping and prancing, grooming, purring, and acting like his old self again. The depression is gone! His most recent visit to the vet was positive. He has gained 6 ozs. and they can't believe his progress. I don't think he would of made it this long without Tripsy!

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
My cat, Rocky, started urinating often and in places other than outside and the catbox. I took her to the vet and had her on antibiotics for a while that seemed to help but when she stopped taking them, the problem instantly started up again. After a couple of years fighting with this problem and watching her suffer with having to urinate so often, I found Tripsy and decided to give it a try. I already had one of my cats on Resthryo, which is doing great. It took me a couple of weeks of putting the Tripsy in her food, starting with a small amount and working up to a full dose. (I could not get her to take it from the dropper). Well, after a couple of months, I am so thrilled with how Rocky is doing now. She is content, comfortable and goes regularly now. What a difference! Thank you!

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
Buddy, about ten y.o. male kitty, was diagnosed with kidney disease, and had a $800.00 hospital bill, and a list of medications that would cost me about $100.00/month. This was several years ago. I have got him through until recently, in good health with just regular doses of Gravel Root tea.(Queen of the Meadow, or Joe Pye Weed other names, also in Tripsy) Recently, he had a bad case of stones. I increased the dosage of tea, and found Tripsy on line. In two days, he was back to normal, for two weeks. I believe the Tripsy dissolved a stone, which he had a hard time passing. In two days, he did. He has been fine for over a month, and is back playing and rough housing with the other cats. I used it on Dovey, another female; who was also sitting on the box for long periods. She loves it, and it worked over night on her. The cost was less than a month of medicine, and diet prescribed by the vet, which I could not afford. I ordered two bottles, to save on shipping, and think it was one of the best values I could have found. I will get more, when this runs out. A very good product.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
My cat Jessie was diagnosed with mild kidney failure back in May 2011. He wasn't eating very much, his coat looked a mess, and he was always sleeping. He seemed to be giving up on life. My vet told me there's wasn't anything I could do besides put him on special kidney food. I thought there must be something out there I can find that will help him feel better. That's when I came across Trispy. I noticed improvement within weeks for giving it to him. He's been taking Trispy now for 8 months. He's happy, not sleeping all the time, his coat looks almost a 100% better and he's back to a healthy weight again. Tripsy definitely saved my cat. Thank you.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
This product has really made a difference for two of my kitties! One cat had been dignosed with Kidney failure and was beginning to regress after a year and a half on fluids. After beginning Tripsy, his symptoms subsided. His coat looks better, he is drinking less water, and seems to be gaining weight. I also have a second cat who was vomiting alot on a weekly basis. She began to show the same symptoms. I started her on Tripsy as well. After two weeks, I have noticed no more vomiting, better coat condition and weight gain. Thank you Tripsy! You have a customer for life!

I truly am a believer in this product and have witnessed the results! My 15 year old furry feline family member has been taking Tripsy for over a year now and she is doing amazing - her levels have stablized -- even dropped (which the vet said would never happen), her coat is healthy, and her energy is great! We are so pleased to have found a product that has allowed us to enjoy "Molly" for a longer period of time in our family. Thank you "Petwellbeing.com"!! Sincerely, Dawn (Bonaire, GA)

Tripsy saved my cat. His kidneys were enlarged and he was exhibiting all the classic symptoms of kidney disease. Within 2 days my cat stopped urinating all over the house and his kidneys were no longer inflammed. I don't think he minds the taste because he doesn't mind the dropper at all. He somehow knows this product helps him. Thank you sooooooo much. I will be a customer for life.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
I first ordered Tripsy after doing an internet search about 6 mos. ago. Our cat (15) was listless; had lost weight and was not herself. I noticed her breath was bad so felt a dental appt/cleaning was in order... but when she had her pre-'surgery' blood work, her kidneys were found to be functioning too poorly to tolerate the anaesthetic ... They sent us home.
Not much was recommended by the vet that they could do for her so I went online to do my own research and found Tripsy. It is very easy to administer... I just put a couple of drops into her food directly (canned) 2 x daily and she gobbles it up and doesn't seem to have any problem with the taste. Her energy levels increased almost immediately and she seems so much happier and healthier overall ... I couldn't be happier with this product and would highly recommend it for cats with kidney issues especially!

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
Tripsy can be easily administered directly by dropper or in a very small amount of a favorite food(as in the case of our almost feral cats). A twice daily dose is maintaining our 19 year old male tuxedo cat, Louis, who has been developing kidney troubles over the years and has not needed a vet appointment since we started the tripsy. He is very comfortable and all systems seem to be working well. We have even noticed an improvement in the coat of our female cat of about the same age. No problems that we can see and we have been using it for at least 6 months.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
My 10 year old cat, Janet (male) was diagnosed in July 2011 with renal failure, vet said his counts were "off the chart". Vet sent him home with just sub-Q fluids, and wasn't very hopeful. I went to the web, and found Tripsy, Azodyl, Epakitin, and Multi Essentials vitamins. I dose the Azodyl with a piller, and mix the rest in Janet's baby food which he takes by syringe. Last checkup (about 3 weeks ago) the vet was amazed that Janet is still alive, and he said "keep doing whatever it is you're doing". Janet has recently become interested in eating on his own again (but not enough), and he is obviously feeling better (batting the other cats when they challenge him). I give the sub-q fluids, plus Tripsy and the other items, credit for making Janet feel better. Hopefully they will help him for a long time to come.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
I have a 14 year old Tuxedo cat. We moved in with my boyfriend and his cat and dog about 6 months ago. I saw a dramatic change for the worse in my cat. She became very lethargic and lost so much weight I could feel all her bones in her back. She went from 12 pounds to 5 very rapidly. She was hungry all the time no matter how much I fed her. She was also extremely thirsty and urinated more than normal. I noticed there was no smell to her urine and decided it was time to go to the vet. She has only been to the vet 2 times and both times was very stressed out but I knew I had to take her. They pulled a geriatric blood panel and another lab specific to the kidneys and told me she was having moderate kidney failure. We changed her diet and I bought Tripsy. I had previous experience with Pet Well Being and their Plantaeris product. It has been about 2 months and Spooky is slowly gaining weight back, is no longer lethargic, chases my boyfriends cat when they play and overall seems to feel much better. I would recommend this product over all other prescription medicine along with a diet that caters to Kidney disease. I hope to continue to see more improvement.

Our feline, Lilly, age 12 was diagnosed with kidney disease. Previously at age 2 she had been treated & hospitalized for urinary problems. Many trips to the vet for iv's. Discovered your website and after reading many reviews we ordered Tripsy. Lilly has been on Tripsy now since March 2011 and is doing extremely well. She is energetic, better disposition, playful, large appetite, her water consumption is normal, she now cleans herself and her coat is better (fur not sticking out). We feed her CANNED LOW PROTEIN MOIST FOOD and SENIOR MOIST FOOD with Tripsy on top and she loves it. A bottle lasts approximately 5 months and is used twice daily as recommended. Highly recommended!!! We feel it is a miracle and blessing because she was in very poor health.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
My 14-1/2 yr old buff Tabby named Indy was diagnosed with the early stages of kidney disease in Feb 2011 & has been on Tripsy since March 2011 (8 months). I take him to my vet every 2 months for a kidney value check. When he was diagnosed his creatinine was 3.0. I had his values checked the other day and his creatinine was 3.1. My vet and I were both ecstatic that after 8 months, it is still stabilized. No matter what age your cat is or what stage of kidney disease they have, PLEASE give this product a try. I started out giving him 4ml and now he's up to 8ml, but the product is safe, he likes the taste and IT'S WORKING! I know he'll be on it for the rest of his life, but he is otherwise very healthy so I will do whatever it takes! ;)))))

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Cat Kidney Disease:
My cat is about 15 years old. She was on special food for 7 months because of kidney disease. She became progressively lethargic. Then I purchased Tripsy online. I gave my cat the recommended dosage twice a day. I warmed up a tablespoon of her special canned food from the vet in the microwave. Then I mixed in the drops of Tripsy. I mash it with a fork and mix it up. She loves it. After a few days of eating Tripsy, Cassie regained her energy. After about a month on Tripsy, my cat's blood work improved quite a bit, both the BUN and Creatine numbers.

Question:
My 14 year old neutered male started eating and drinking large amounts but losing weight and body mass. Went to vet and had blood work, all that was abnormal was kidneys, will Tripsy help gain weight? Was told to start special food and sub cutaneous fluids, my cat is very difficult to work with, was trapped at 3 months old so is somewhat feral.Asked on 1/29/2012 by kobi-kat from boston,ma1 answer
Answer:
Our Tripsy product is formulated to support healthy kidney function and may assist in easing some discomfort associated with inflamed tissue with natural anti-inflammatory properties.
The weight loss associated with renal failure is due to the discomfort they are in preventing them from having much of an appetite.Answered on 1/30/2012 by Mgr Customer Care from CSR Office

Question:
My cat is on 3.75 mg of Prednizone and 1 mg of Periactin. Does Tripsey interact with these?Asked on 1/26/2012 by Irene1 answer
Answer:
Tripsy does not have any side effects or known contraindications with other medications on the market at this time. I would suggest that you try to spread out the dosage of Tripsy and the conventional meds if possible, to allow their body to break down and absorb each individual product.Answered on 1/30/2012 by Anonymous
