Comments about Pet Wellbeing Itchy Owie Ointment for cat paws and skin:
One of my cats has severe (itchy & thus licked raw & bloody) skin lesions and a rodent ulcer as a result of allergies. 18 months of regular vet treatment, incl biopsies, prednisolone, cyclosporine (on their own & together) have failed to shift this. She was also on fortnightly antibiotic injections.
This ointment's antibacterial properties began killing off the resident staph infection on her lesions (which occurred because her skin was broken), thus reducing their itchiness. This meant my cat did not scratch them as much and they began to heal. The disadvantage is that it is quite moist, which provided a good growing environment for any remaining bacteria. She is now on a fusilic acid gel that is drier.
However, this would be the perfect ointment for ANY flaky skin conditions and I would not hesitate to use it again.

I really liked this product my elderly cat has a skin condition that causes scabs and itching. After one use her skin was much better and her coat was shiney and healthy. I will continue to use this product.

Comments about Pet Wellbeing Itchy Owie Ointment for cat paws and skin:
I ordered this for one of my cats, that is suffering from an allergy. The skin is itchy and it causes red patches when she scratches...she is treated for fleas and the condition clears up when the vet was giving steroid shots...however the shots are very strong and long term use is not good. So,while trying to pinpoint the cause of the allergy I decided to order this as I have tried different topical treatments to give reief. This works! It is gentle yet effective. I apply it twice a day. I clean the area before applying with a cotton ball soaked with sterile saline solution. I am also treating the inside of her with 3V capsules...the area of skin is healing and I am so glad that I ordered the ointment. It does not have a strong smell which is a plus...cats do not like strange smelly stuff being applied to their coats...she actually purrs when I apply this...she usually runs & hides when I try to apply topical treatments...go ahead & order for your kitty!

Comments about Pet Wellbeing Itchy Owie Ointment for cat paws and skin:
I was very optimistic when I ordered this product because I've been extremely satisfied with my other purchases from Pet Well Being-
However; this product was entirely ineffective, very greasy and just attracted dirt, so I had to wash and reapply several times throughout the day for two weeks...and then it didn't help my cat's skin problem at all.
*It was more expensive than the more effective products I've purchased here.
