Description
What are dog ear infections?
If your dog frequently shakes his head or scratches his ears compulsively, he may have a canine ear infection.
Especially susceptible to ear infections are breeds with long, floppy and hairy ears: schnauzers, cocker spaniels, retrievers, etc.
Canine ear infections can be caused by water (which is why dogs that enjoy swimming are more likely to get them), allergies, excessive buildup of ear wax, or foreign bodies like seeds in the ear. Another common cause is parasitic insects such as ear mites.
When infected, your dog’s ear will become inflamed and may discharge a black or yellowish fluid. There may also be a foul odor. Ear infections can be irritating and painful; your dog may show his discomfort by obsessively shaking his head, scratching his ears, or rubbing them against furniture… or your leg!
Common symptoms of dog ear infection:
- Frequent scratching of ears and shaking of head
- Possible whining, obvious discomfort
- A foul-smelling, pus-filled yellowish or dark discharge
- Dark-colored debris in ear, similar to fine coffee grounds
How to avoid and/or treat canine ear infections
The first line of defense against dog ear infections is to keep your dog’s ears clean. If your dog is prone to ear infections, it’s also helpful to keep him out of water, as water in the ear tends to make infections worse. (Of course, it can be difficult to keep dogs such as Labrador retrievers out of the water. Just know that swimming can make the problem worse and try to keep your dog’s ears clean and dry whenever possible.)
Infections of the ear can be very painful for dogs. Applying a warm, dry compress can help, as can the herbs contained in Canine Echo Gold.

Administered like the directions said to. My dog seemed okay with accepting the drops and it seemed to cut out some of the pain but in the end it did not cure the ear infection. I spent (wasted) alot of money [$] for the product [...]but in the end, I still had to take my dog to the vet and spend over $300 more to get a product and care that would actually cure his ear infection and give him more comfort. I think this product is over priced [...]. I might have felt differently if it actually cured his ear infection. Price is nothing for the comfort and good health of our furry loved ones...but the product must work as it says it would. I just had false hope or expected more than it could deliver.

This product works great on my older poodle. After using it just two days his ears look 50% better. The only con that I have is that it did not come with an useable eye droper. I had to use one that I had on hand.

Our little 7 lbs., 12 years old, toy poodle had very bad ear infections. she also has allergies and we attributed this to the allergies. I saw this and decided to order it. It has cleared up her ear infection. Thanks for a very good product that does what it says it will. She doesn't mind me putting it in her ears at all.

Comments about NHV Echo Gold for Dog Ear Infections:
I Charmaine Hepburn make a purchase from Petwellbeing for my dog Jaime nearly 2 1/2 to 3 months ago.The product name is Echo Gold, which worked tremendously. Jaime began to heal within less than 24 hours from an ear infection, Jaime is always full of energy, always happy, but since i used the the Echo Gold everything about her physically and mentally has made a 350degree turn for the BETTER!!!!!
I told my sister about Echo Gold and how it worked for my dog. Her dog got ill and did not eat or drink for 3 days. I encourage her to allow me to administer the medication in her dog ear even though they didn't have a diagonosis for the dog. So I received permission to do so and her dog Prince started to show positive results within a few hours. They were absolutely pleased by the results and saw that there was hope for they daog Prince to live. They though the dog was going to die before Echo Gold came to the rescue.
Thanks Echo Gold, your'e more than just a Healer, you're a Life Saver!!!

Comments about NHV Echo Gold for Dog Ear Infections:
Thank you, I have tried several pet websites trying to find an ear medication that would work. Most just covered up the smell, this took the smell away, the swollen ears, everything. I can tell by the way my 11 yr old dog is acting that it works. He is much happier. I have already recommended you web site and this product to several people.

Comments about NHV Echo Gold for Dog Ear Infections:
I found buying an eye dropper and using it to put the ear gold deep into the ear the easiest way to do it without a mess. The company that makes the ear gold needs to change how the liquid comes out of the bottle. Add a dropper would be best.
Bo has chronic ear infections as he is a lab and its hunting season right now. So we are treating through the season to keep his ears happy. He does't mind the drops at all and enjoys the ear massage he gets. I will buy more when this runs out.

Comments about NHV Echo Gold for Dog Ear Infections:
We've had labradors for over 14 years and our first dog had chronic ear infections anytime she went in the water. We now have 2 labradors and our black lab is having the same problem. We were tired of going to the vet and paying office visit fees on top of the medicine cost. The problem is always the same, so we just wanted a medicine on-hand all the time. My husband was a little skeptical (me too) about getting an all natural solution. I was willing to take the chance this time and surprisingly our dog's ear cleared up quickly. There was no more smell and the color of his ear is back to normal. It took less than a week to clear up. The only con about this product is the dropper. We had to get one at the store ($1.50) to make it easier to get the medicine down far enough in his ear. Otherwise, I would have given a 5-star.

Comments about NHV Echo Gold for Dog Ear Infections:
Easy to administer and definately helps sooth the ear and clear up the dark smelly discharge. My dog is still shaking his head and crying though. Have put him on science diet food and biscuts to see if allergies are keeping his ear wet. Hopefully the combination will do the trick.

Comments about NHV Echo Gold for Dog Ear Infections:
Teegan had fungal ears for a long time, chronic case. Now her ears are clearing up with daily care and they don't smell bad, they actually have a pleasant odour. There is still some discharge but it dries up and flakes off easily. I will continue to use this natural awesome product as I'm seeing good results and am happy that Teegan isn't suffering any more. She is a five year old female shi-tzu.

Comments about NHV Echo Gold for Dog Ear Infections:
It's hard to tell whether the product is effective because it's so difficult to administer according to directions. If it came with the right kind of dropper, it would be easier to judge. As it is, the bottle has an interior piece that dispenses a drop at a time if you tap the bottle, but try doing that while you're holding in a smaller dog's ear. The only droppers I could find weren't meant for this usage so I had to put it on a swab to be sure it got down into the ear canal. It's a gentle product and not likely to cause problems, but I don't think I'll be buying it again.
