Description
About Dog Kidney Disease
In humans, the heart is the organ most likely to cause health problems as we age. In dogs, it’s the kidneys. Kidney problems are among the top causes of illness and death in older dogs. Two common types of dog kidney problems are:
- Chronic renal (kidney) failure
- Kidney stones
Renal (kidney) failure, as its name implies, is when the kidney fails to do its job, which is to filter impurities out of the blood and concentrate the urine. Acute kidney failure is often the result of ingesting toxins, and is sometimes reversible. Chronic kidney failure sneaks up more gradually, and is a leading cause of death in dogs.
Kidney stones are mineral deposits that from in a dog's kidneys. They irritate the bladder lining and can even block a dog's urinary tract.
Treating kidney disease in dogs
If your dog is suffering from any form of kidney disease, you should see your vet to discuss conventional treatment options. These include intravenous fluid treatment, dialysis (artificial blood filtering), various drugs, and even kidney transplants.
A low sodium diet is often recommended, as high blood pressure often accompanies kidney failure. A reduced protein diet is also often recommended.
How does Tripsy work?
Tripsy is particularly helpful, especially in combination with traditional treatments. Tripsy contains a unique combination of herbal extracts used to:
- Promote healthy kidney function
- Help guard against kidney infections
- Supports normal urinary flow
- Helps ease the pain and discomfort of kidney stones
Tripsy is a potent formula but is totally natural and gentle enough for long-term use.
Does this formula contain any diuretics?
Although any herb may have a slight diuretic effect, Tripsy is not a diuretic formula. For any of the herbs in Tripsy to work as a diuretic they would have to be taken as single herb at a different dosage or would have to be combined with other herbs that also work as diuretics.
Doctor-formulated and vet-approved
Tripsy was painstakingly formulated by a leading naturopathic veterinarian. It is gentle yet effective, without any known side effects.

Complementary Approaches
If you find your dog's interest in drinking has gone down you may want to look at the Drinkwell Fountain that we offer. This is an excellent way to not only peak your dogs interest in drinking again, but also to provide a fresh and filtered source of water.
Also if your vet has recommended a protein restricted diet to help decrease the amount of work that your dog's kidneys need to do, we can recommend the NHV Multivitamin. This all herbal liquid formula does not have an added meat product that is found in most powdered supplements and can be mixed in with your dose of Tripsy to be given at the same time.
Product will last for 6 months, refrigerate after opening.
