Description
About Dog Kidney Disease
In humans, the heart is the organ most likely to cause health problems as we age. In dogs, it’s the kidneys. Nobody is quite sure why, but kidney problems are among the top causes of illness and death in older dogs. Two common types of dog kidney problems are:
- Chronic renal (kidney) failure
- Kidney stones
Renal (kidney) failure, as its name implies, is when the kidney fails to do its job, which is to filter impurities out of the blood and concentrate the urine. Acute kidney failure is often the result of ingesting toxins, and is sometimes reversible. Chronic kidney failure sneaks up more gradually, and is a leading cause of death in dogs.
Kidney stones are mineral deposits that from in a dog's kidneys. They irritate the bladder lining and can even block a dog's urinary tract.
Treating kidney disease in dogs
If your dog is suffering from any form of kidney disease, you should see your vet to discuss conventional treatment options. These include intravenous fluid treatment, dialysis (artificial blood filtering), various drugs, and even kidney transplants.
A low sodium diet is often recommended, as high blood pressure often accompanies kidney failure. A reduced protein diet is also often recommended.
Natural, herbal support: Tripsy for dog kidney disease is particularly helpful, especially in combination with traditional treatments. Tripsy contains a unique combination of herbal extracts used to:
- Promote healthy kidney function
- Help guard against kidney infections
- Supports normal urinary flow
- Helps ease the pain and discomfort of kidney stones
Tripsy is a potent formula but is totally natural and gentle enough for long-term use.
Doctor-formulated and vet-approved
Tripsy was painstakingly formulated by a leading naturopathic veterinarian. It is gentle yet effective, without any known side effects.
Does this formula contain any diuretics?
Although an herb may have a slight diuretic effect it is not used as a diuretic in this formula. The combination of the other herbs in the formula help balance out the diuretic effect. For any of these herbs to work as a diuretic they would have to be taken as single herb at a different dosage or would have to be combined with other herbs that also work as diuretics.

"I am writing to let you know how grateful my family and I are for the Tripsy product we recently got from your website. Our dog Larry is a real member of our family and the kids absolutely love him. Naturally, it is important to keep him healthy.
When Larry was recently diagnosed with kidney disease, it really upset us all. The kids were distraught and thought he would die. After the vet treated him with a fluid therapy, we were put on to Tripsy and hoped it would help in his healing process. As the last few weeks have passed, Larry has been getting better, looking better and even the vet is pleased with his condition. It is great to know that Larry will be himself again. Thank you from us all."

"I did want to Thank You So Much, I am an avid believer in natural supplements for all of my pets. I was at my wits end with my Abracadabra, my faithful 13 year old Shepherd. She was having such difficulty with Kidney Stones, I tried everything the Vet had me to do for her, other than helping her infections from passing the stones and providing some special diet food for her problem, Tripsy was the only thing that helped her, and within a few days.
She also had a brief time where she was trying to pass a stone and I started her up on the Tripsy formula and within days she was able to pass her stone and back to her old self. I even told the Vet that they should look into carrying this item in their hospital.
I am very grateful, and I was wondering do you think that Tripsy might be able to help some of these pets that were affected by the horrible food incident that has touched so many pets and pet owners?"
—Kindest, Warmest Regards, Rhonda in Las Vegas

P.S. I have attached a picture of Abracadabra with one of my cats named Bubba.

"I just want to tell you that my dog Maggie (16 years old) had been sick for about 6 months before I found out about Tripsy. She was diagnosed with kidney disease and was placed on fluids every day. She had good days and bad days, but mostly bad. She wasn't eating, vomiting frequently, having accidents, trembling and had seizures one evening. I thought it was about time to put her to rest until I heard about the Tripsy (which I thought would be a sham since I'm not really into holistic stuff).
After about one week on Tripsy I started to notice a difference. Although she's still not 100%, she seems to feel much better. She's still not eating much and is as skinny as a rail, but she isn't shaking anymore, isn't vomiting (only about once a month), and even has the energy to play sometimes. She still gets her daily dose of fluid in addition to her Tripsy (which I give her twice a day).
Thanks a lot guys! I think you've made the quality of life for my Maggie a lot better!"

"My poodle has been on Tripsy for two weeks now and we have seen such a wonderful improvement. She was on death’s door when we first started giving it to her. She would not eat and didn't want to move around anymore. Now she walks out to use the washroom like normal and she has gained her appetite back. Thank you so much for Tia's second chance."

Boaz our 10 year old Labrador retriever was diagnosed with severe chronic kidney disease. When we realized how ill he was and by the time the Veterinary Lab work verified the illness, we had a very sick dog. The medications prescribed had not been effective and he continued to lose weight and was very weak. The Vet indicated that within a few days we would need to put Boaz down. In desperation I searched for an alternative remedy and found Tripsy. I placed an order for express delivery. He has been on the recommended dosage and slowly Boaz has been recovering. While this is not a cure it has helped him to regain his appetite and strength back. I believe that natural remedies can make a difference in human health so I was hopeful about Tripsy. Although a bit skeptical of it's effectiveness at first, I noticed the improvement within a couple of days. That has been nearly 6 weeks ago, and although Boaz is still ill, I now have a safe and proven treatment. I am 100% convinced that Tripsy works.

My dog Lady, a small mixed breed 17 years old, but still rather healthy suddenly became very sick around the third week of April. She started throwing up, would not eat, lost all her engery, etc. and was just very sick.My vet of many years conducted a full examination, bloodwork, etc. and told me that Lady's lab work showed that she was in Kidney failure, and recommended that I take her home for a few days so my wife and I could say our goodbys to Lady. I took her home and a few days later, out of love for Lady I started searching the internet for something, anything that might help her. I found the product,Canine Trispy. The product seem to be just what I was looking for. [...] I gave Lady her first dose. I gave it to her twice the next day. On the morning of the third day I noticed that Lady was having trouble walking, even falling over a couple of times.I immediatly thought, was this caused by the kidney failure or by the Trispy I was giving her. I didn't know, but I wanted to help her so I gave her the morning dose of Trispy anyway, thinking that it was something to help her, not to hurt her. Troughout that day Lady's inability to walk without triping, falling over, etc. seemed to worsen. A call to the vet was made and she knew nothing about the product Tripsy. That day my wife, by accident, dropped the bottle of Trispy breaking the top and spilled it. I thought, should I order more or just stop giving it. I decided to stop, because I was very concerned that the Trispy might be what was causing lady to trip, fall down, etc. After about two days of not getting the Trispy Lady started to improve greatly. She was now able to stand, walk without triping, falling, etc. It is now May 20th and Lady is still sick, and is being treated by our vet, because we are not ready to say goodby to our Lady, but Lady is now walking well, and has not shown any more problems of triping, weekness, falling over, etc. I cannot say that the Trispy caused these problems, but I can say that they went away when I stopped giving the Trispy to her. Be very carefull with this product, and any other product. Don't do as I did, talk to your vet first, before you give your pet anything. You might do much more harm than good.

My 14 year old springer spaniel was diagnosed with kidney and liver disease 5 months ago. Since she has been on this product, her last blood test showed that her levels were back to normal. I love this product, it is easy to use, she hates pills, and I truly believe she is still here with me today because of these products.

My 15 year old dog has kidney disease. She stopped eating completely and dropped a lot of weight. We tried all kinds of things to get her to eat and nothing worked. I read about this product and gave it a try. Within 24hr she started to eat little amounts. Now she eats twice a day, plus snacks. She seems to be feeling much better and her sweet personality is back. We know she is up there is age but any extra time and comfort we can give her we are willing to do. I highly suggest anyone to try this, it WORKS!

Hi
I am using Tripsy for Kidney disease for my dog and I am immensely satisfied with its results. My dog Charly, is 8 years old, almost 9 and he is in Sri Lanka. Since this product is known to be very efficient, I bought it just last month and mailed it to Sri Lanka and you have no idea how great it has been. My dog was quite critical and my vet was so impressed at how his urine test turned so positive, so quickly after Charly started to use it.
Thank you Tripsy!!

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Dog Kidney Disease:
I have a poodle/terrier rescue dog (age unknown) who was diagnosed with kidney disease in May, 2011. She has been on a renal disease diet since then and had done fairly well until November. She began exhibiting symptoms again (nausea, vomiting, weakness) and received sub-q fluids which did help, but after 7-10 days would need a repeat treatment. I had read about Tripsy online and ordered a bottle after the first sub-q fluids; it arrived on the day that I was struggling to assess my little dog's quality of life and how soon I would have to make that difficult decision we sometimes must face. I started her on the Tripsy and within 3 days she had her appetite back. After a week, she was ready to go on a walk again (after 3 months of not wanting to go) and she has not needed sub-q fluids since beginning the Tripsy (almost 5 weeks now). The kidney disease does not go away, of course, but it certainly seems to have helped her to feel better and her quality of life is most important to me, so thank you for your product!

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Dog Kidney Disease:
My 8 yr. old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog suffers from kidney loss of function, first diagnosed in January 2009. Until I switched his diet and began using Tripsy his pattern of behavior was to eat for a week or so, and then become violently ill for 24-hours -he would not eat any food and ingesting any water would make him throw up. Additionally, he was lethargic and wouldn't move from his bed. 24 hours later, back to "normal". Since the diet change and Tripsy, he has not had another episode, has been bright and happy. I am most grateful for whatever "it" is that this product has brought to my boy. Thank you.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Dog Kidney Disease:
I used full recommended dosage for Chronic Kidney Disease. My dog had no issues with the drops on his food.
! My dog went to the Vet for other problems and they ran blood work. They found his kidneys were better then 2.5 months prior when they had discovered the disease. A proven improvement in kidney disease just doesn't happen. CKD is not a disease with a cure. But this results would suggest this product might significantly lengthen some dogs' lives.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Dog Kidney Disease:
This is my second review. We have been buying the Tripsy for several years, and were probably the first handful of people who started buying this wonderful product for their pets. I can't give it enough kudos. It has saved our dogs lives and given them a quality of life that wouldn't have had otherwise. It has never upset their stomachs and it is given to them on an empty stomach. Be sure to give the exact recommended amount per the instructions - 2 drops per pound for dogs. We don't own cats so I don't know if that dosage is the same.
In addition to this helping the kidneys and kidney disease and other ailments regarding the kidneys, what dog food and how it is fed, is key to a quality of life for your pet. Older dogs cannot usually tolerate dry dog food, so it is crutial to have it wet, almost mushy. Dogs with kidney disease cannot tolerate dry dog food. At least that is what we have found. also, check the ingredients in your dog food - watch the sodium. It seems that besides by-products, wheat, corn and other not so healthy stuff can make its way into dog food. We switched to Bench & Field probably 3 years ago, and Sojos grain free fruit and veggie ready to mix with meat. We do not give our dogs raw meat. Our Lacey would die if we did - she cannot tolerate protein. We give them the Bench & Field soaked for several hours, with the Bench & Field soaked overnight. They literally plow their way through to find the Sojos. They love it. And the Bench & Field. Bench & Field has been making holistic dog food for years and is still made here in the U.S. Sojos is also made in the U.S.- in Minnesota.
Thank you Tripsy for saving our Sneaker and Lacey. They are 15 years young, turning 16 years young in September.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Dog Kidney Disease:
My 13 year old Akita mix was diagnosed with kidney failure and the vet recommended that we leave her at the clinic for a few days. After the diuretics and antibiotics, my dog got a little better but a few days later she got really sick again. And this all cost about $1000. The vet said that it's probably too late to do anything and that the only thing that could possibly save her was a kidney transplant but given my dog's age it was ruled out. So he started giving us the "humane" solution talk but me and my family didn't want to put her down just yet. So out of desperation I started researching the internet and found out about this Tripsy. I was a bit skeptical at first but thought I'd give it a try. My dog wouldn't eat anything and I had to give the Tripsy on an empty stomach the first day. I can tell it was making her a bit nauseous and she threw up. But the next day, my dog was looking a little better and she actually started drinking water. I tried giving her food and she actually started eating a little bit too. My family and I were just elated to say the least. And the next day she seemed to be getting even better. It's been about 2 months since she was first diagnosed with kidney failure and given only days to live. Now my dog isn't 100% and I don't think she'll ever be given her age and the permanent damage she has to her kidneys but this Tripsy seems to have stalled the symptoms and made her feel better. There are still some days where she'll throw up and not want to eat but after we give her some more Tripsy, her appetite immediately returns and she'll feel better again. It seems to provide temporary relief and wears off after several hours but it works really fast. And after 2 months, I was afraid that it'll stop working but that hasn't been the case and my dog is doing well.
Oh I forgot to mention that giving this Tripsy on an empty stomach seems to cause nauseousness and vomiting so I recommend that you either give it after a meal or feeding your dog as soon as you can after giving the Tripsy.

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Dog Kidney Disease:
My 15-yr-old Llasa apso "Bear" had a crisis when his kidneys were damaged by a flea-control pesticide that was too strong. For several days he would not move or eat, and seemed virtually paralyzed. Blood tests showed that all of his results were normal EXCEPT the 2 main kidney indicators, which were abnormal. The vet thought that Bear probably had chronic, long-term kidney disease. She could not believe that Bear's kidney damage was due to the pesticide. I ordered Tripsy, which came immediately, and I started giving it to Bear. Within about 4 days he was clearly more perky and energetic, and the bounce returned to his step. After a week I took him back to the vet for follow-up blood work, and his kidney indicators were all NORMAL! The vet was amazed. I have to conclude the Tripsy was the primary factor in Bear's amazing recovery. (But, Bear himself played a role, by drinking a ton of water for 3 days, as if to cleanse his system of the pesticide.) A month later, Bear still takes Tripsy and he is definitely more energetic and bouncy than he was even before the pesticide issue. The change in his blood work after 1 week on Tripsy pretty much proves the effectiveness of this product.

I started using Tripsy about 3 weeks ago. I just brought my 11 yr old Shih Tzu for his dental cleaning. Before the procedure, the vet took blood work. In his previous blood work, his creatinine and BUN were high and have been high for awhile. He has been on a special diet for renal disease. Then I added the Tripsy. The exciting new is that his creatinine and BUN are within the normal range. YES! This is great. I don't know how it works, but I am sold on Tripsy.

My 9 year old cocker spaniel was diagnosed with kidney failure in Dec. 2010 and I was told she'd probably only be with me 2-3 more months. I started researching the internet and found Tripsy and immediately ordered it and she has been on it ever since. She is doing great...even the vet says so. She still plays ball and chases squirrels. I'd give any dog Tripsy if they have been diagnosed with kidney failure. It has been a miracle product for Aspen!

My poodle Ginger is 10 years old and has suffered from hip dysplasia since she was little. I've tried all sorts of things including glucosamine and condroitin with no results. Prescription pain relievers helped some but this product is amazing. I started Ginger on it about 3 weeks ago. She would drag herself around because it hurt too much to get up on that back leg. I am happy to say she hardly ever does it now. She runs all through the house using that leg and is so much happier. We have a chihuahua as well and she has always been very playful especially since she is younger. Ginger had given up on playing with toys until now. She steals Chica's stuffed toys now and wants to play some as well. Although Ginger has some cataracts and her eyesight is not as good anymore, thanks to Tripsy I feel she has many more good years ahead. This medicine is a lifesaver!

My dog was just diagnosed over the weekend with this horrible disease and I am so scared. After reading all of the reviews it does appear this stuff works. I just ordered a bottle. I was hoping someone could e-mail me with some things that I could add to my dogs diet. He hates the Canine H/D dog food that the vet has given us. I need some suggestions on what I can add to the food that will not be harmful to him. Please help me through this difficult time. I could use any recommendations. My e-mail is Gloverf[@]

Comments about NHV Tripsy for Dog Kidney Disease:
Like other dog owners whose pet gets bad news about stage four kidney disease, we were feeling helpless--and "traditional" veterinary medicine had no real hope to offer. I found Tripsy on the net and ordered it, thinking, "well, even if it makes him feel better while we still have him, it's worth a shot." Well, it was more than that. We just had him back to the vet for new blood tests and the vet said he couldn't explain it, but Calloway is now stage three, not four. He has gained weight, got his appetite back, and is actually friskey again! We know that it was Tripsy that did it. We changed nothing else in his life but added Tripsy.
These results came after about 3 weeks, but we noticed small differences in the first few days. P.S. we had decided not to tell the vet about it, because he would have poo-poo'd it before hand and would have told us something else afterward. But, who cares? Our dog is better. That's what matters.

There is no problem with Oscar lapping his 8 drops straight up, once in the morning, once in evening. I tasted the tonic myself -it has a nice sweet taste. He has taken it for about 2 years now. His BUN numbers came down. I do not get him tested any more. We just minimize salt and potassium intake (no more licking plates), eat fresh food, some canned dog food and take the Tripsy. He is now the age of my previous dachshund, who died a year after her diagnosis. She ate the KD diet for the last year of her life, but did not like it. I believe Tripsy has enabled Oscar to lead a more active and happy life since his kidney disease diagnosis.

These two products come in eye dropper form and apparently taste good as my Springer gives me no trouble at all. So I LOVE the ease of delivery. He was diagnosed w/mild renal failure about 2yrs ago and I have kept his #'s down by giving him both the liquid Milk Thistle and Tripsy. His Drs are very pleased. We also feed him a proper diet for renal failure.

Complementary Approaches
If you find your dog's interest in drinking has gone down you may want to look at the Drinkwell Fountain that we offer. This is an excellent way to not only peak your dogs interest in drinking again, but also to provide a fresh and filtered source of water.
Also if your vet has recommended a protein restricted diet to help decrease the amount of work that your dog's kidneys need to do, we can recommend the NHV Multivitamin. This all herbal liquid formula does not have an added meat product that is found in most powdered supplements and can be mixed in with your dose of Tripsy to be given at the same time.
Product will last for 6 months, refrigerate after opening.

1. Hydrangea leaf and buds can be harmful when ingested by a pet. However in our Tripsy we use the root of the plant which is not harmful to a pet. The root of the plant can help to combat infection and has been shown to be helpful for treating inflamed tissues, urinary and bladder infections.Answered on 1/26/2012 by AnonymousAnswer:

Hi. My dog's tests show his specific gravity is low. this is an indication of kidney disease. It has dropped since 2010 from 1.035 to 1.023 (2/11) to 1.010 last week. His blood work shows nothing but the vet thinks it just hasn't shown up yet. Tripsy helps support healthy kidney function and a healthy urinary tract. It helps to prevent stress on the kidneys, so is beneficial to prevent further damage to the kidneys. It is a gentle formula with no side effects and is safe for long term use. Question:
hi what do u do put drops in there food or do i switch to a new wet food after all these years and do these drops to help my dog is 9 and a boy shitsu he is a terrible eater really has lost 40% of his kidney use i want to help him asap what do i do
.Asked on 1/17/2012 by trish from pbg florida1 answer
Answer:
Tripsy is an herbal formula to help maintain kidney functions as well as to promote a healthy urinary tract in dogs, which is especially beneficial to animal's with compromised urinary systems. Unfortunately there is no cure or reversal of kidney failure possible at this time, but the supplement is formulated to help maintain their wellbeing and reduce discomfort that may be associated with kidney disease/failure. You can add the drops onto his dry or wet food, or even administer the drops into his mouth twice a day. As an alternative, you can even add the drops onto a treat that he really enjoys or even onto a small piece of bread for it to soak into. We normally suggest using it continuously for at least 4 - 6 weeks before some improvements can be noticed, as maintaining kidney health in his condition may take time.Answered on 1/18/2012 by Anonymous
