Comments about The Honest Kitchen Embark Dog Food:
My dog loves this food and will eat it all in under a minute. It's nice and portable so it's great to travel and camp with. I love how all the ingredients are of human grade quality, so I know my dog is getting the best. We have been using this product since we adopted our pup at 8weeks. She has never had a health problem and has a fantastic shiny coat. We always use in conjuction with the Nupro supplement as well.
I currently do and will continue to recommend THC's products to anyone who loves their pets.

Comments about The Honest Kitchen Embark Dog Food:
I was a kibble person with Bostons with skin and ear infection issues. I also had a foster French Bulldog that had terrible health and had very little hair. After switching to Embark, my little rescue Frenchie improved by leaps and bounds. She grew a beautiful coat and her health got much better. The Bostons have improved immensely also. I just recently had my first litter of Frenchies and I weaned them at 8 weeks onto Honest Kitchen, ground turkey and goat's milk. They are so healthy and have beautiful coats and plenty of energy. It is so easy to mix up for them and they loved it from the first taste. Thanks for providing such a quality product.

Description
Embark is a grain free, low carbohydrate dog food.
This diet was designed for dogs of all life stages including active adults, puppies, pregnancy and nursing. It contains higher protein and fat to support muscle structure, function and body mass.
Embark is superior in nutrition to commercial dog foods and was designed to be as healthy as raw homemade diets (without the mess or effort of cooking it yourself). Embark was specifically developed for dogs with sensitive stomachs and other chronic ailments that may have resulted from eating grains and gluten. By removing these ingredients from a dog's diet, many animals quickly find relief and return to vibrant health.
Embark contains no by-products, extra salts or sugars, artificial colors or flavors, and no chemical preservatives. Other common ingredients in commercial kibble dog food that are NOT in Embark include beet pulp, rice, wheat, corn or soy. The reason for the absence of these 'other' ingredients is that they are considered to be common allergens for dogs. They can cause problems like dry or itchy skin, lack of energy, ear problems and even hair loss.
Only the freshest top quality ingredients are used in Embark, which is then gently dehydrated in such a way as to preserve to the high vitamin, mineral and enzyme levels of the original food. This process is perfectly safe and very healthy. Meats and eggs are dehydrated slightly differently. They are dehydrated at high temperatures to kill any bacterial and could be considered 'cooked' by the process. The finished dry food is healthy, nutritious and even safe for puppies and senior animals.
Embark is produced in an FDA certified food production facility in California, where human foods like breakfast cereals and drink mixes are created for people to eat. As a food production facility, it undergoes regular FDA inspections.
Embark can be fed as a standalone diet, as it is nutritionally complete or it can be served with your dog’s favorite meat, fruits and vegetables mixed in.
Reasons to feed your dog Embark
- Nutritional balance
- Embark is a complete food (all natural and wholesome)
- All the ingredients are of the best quality and freshness
- Convenience
- Raw food is messy and time consuming to prepare
- Grain, gluten and filler free
- Embark is packaged and sold dry and only requires warm water to create a wholesome diet for your pets
Embark is a truly delicious product that is simple to store, easy to hydrate and great to take along on your travels. Your dog will appreciate the taste even as you appreciate the peace of mind of having purchased such a high quality product.
Directions
Embark has been specially formulated as a standalone food or as a supplement for your homemade dog food. As any raw dehydrated food is different from the more conventional kibble or even cooked and processed foods, it is important to help your pet successfully make the transition in their diet.
If your pet is enjoying a raw food diet already, then it works well to rehydrate Embark and mix with the regular diet immediately. However, for other dogs that are on dry kibbles or canned dog food, then it is usually better to introduce Embark gradually over several days to a week.
Follow the instructions and mix just a little of the hydrated Embark to the regular dry or canned food on the first day. Over the course of the next few days, reduce the amount of the dog’s normal food while increasing the amount of Embark until you are feeding the old and the new foods at a ratio of 1:1. At this point, slowly start reducing the amount of the old food and increase the amount of Embark until you are only feeding Embark to your pet. Making the change slowly will help the intestinal flora in the dog’s stomach to adapt to the new food easier.
Mixing Instructions
All of the Honest Kitchen’s raw dehydrated dog foods are
measured and mixed in the same way. For each dry measured cup of
Embark, mix 1 to 1 ½ cups of warm water (from the tap is
fine). After stirring well, let sit for 5-10 minutes for the
mixture to hydrate. It will resemble oatmeal or a stew when ready
to serve – only brightly colored due to the dehydration
process. At this point, you can mix in your pet’s choice of
vegetables, fruit raw or cooked meats or bones. Serve right away.
If the dog doesn't finish the serving, be sure to pick up the
remainder and refrigerate until the next meal. Don’t reuse
the same food after 48 hours.
Yield Guidelines
If you follow the directions on the box, Embark will give the
following yields:
| 4 oz, which is 1 cup | Makes about 1 lb of fresh food |
| 4 lbs, which is 16 to 17 cups | Makes about 16 to 17 lbs of fresh food |
| 10 lbs, which is 40 to 43 cups | Makes about 40 to 43 lbs of fresh food |
Feeding Guidelines
Serve the proper measure of dry Embark, as per the dog's weight, in
a bowl with warm water as per the mixing instructions above. The
following daily amounts can be adjusted to suit the variations of
breed, age and level of activity as required for each dog. If the
dog weighs:
| Dog's Weight | Less Active dogs | Very Active Dogs |
| Up to 10 lbs | 1/2 Cup | 1 Cup |
| Up to 30 lbs | 1 Cup | 2 Cups |
| Up to 50 lbs | 2 Cups | 4 Cups |
| Up to 70 lbs | 2 1/4 Cups | 4 1/2 Cups |
| Up to 90 lbs | 2 3/4 Cups | 5 1/2 Cups |
These dry measures may not seem like much, but keep in mind that one cup of dry measure mixes to approximately one pound of fresh food. An additional half to one cup of extra meat or other fresh food can be added to supplement each serving once the dry food has been hydrated.
