Description

What is Maris?

Maris is a herbal formula that has been designed to alleviate your pet's discomfort associated with constipation. Maris will ease your pet's gastrointestinal system, stimulate digestion, ease passage of stool, and purify the gastrointestinal tract. This herbal formula addresses many causes of your animal’s discomfort, reducing inflammation and irritation while promoting easy bowel movements.

Your pet, their diet, constipation and flatulence

Constipation and flatulence are common problems in cats. Particularly as they age. They aren’t diseases, as such. They’re simply signs that there is some kind of problem in your pet’s gastrointestinal system. These problems can be caused by a number of different things, even though the symptoms you see are all very similar. The problem may be something your pet has eaten and can’t digest, a parasite or an infection they have picked up. Either way, they are uncomfortable and unhappy, and can use your help in making their discomfort go away.

About PetWellbeing?

We use only premium ingredients that are carefully formulated by a team of veterinary doctors and naturopaths. We blend the wisdom of the past with the latest scientific research. The result is a line of products that have helped thousands of pets to live longer, healthier lives. Just ask our customers.

Will Maris alleviate my dog's constipation?

Maris has been formulated to relieve congestion, ease the gastrointestinial tract, and help your animal have a healthy, and easy bowel movement.

How soon will I see results?

Maris should start working quickly. Just as soon as the ingredients can pass through your pet’s gastrointestinal system.

Should I be concerned about side effects?

No, these are just natural herbs. However, do not give Maris to your pet if it is pregnant, or if you know it has a bowel obstruction or any disease that creates a narrowing anywhere in the digestive tract.

Is it difficult to administer?

No. We know how difficult it is to give animals pills. That’s why MARIS is a liquid and comes with an eyedropper. You can either add it to your pet’s food, or just put the drops in its mouth.

Should I consult my vet before using it?

This is a safe, natural supplement. However, if your vet is prescribing other treatment, it’s always good check with him before giving it to your pet.

Who formulated Maris?

  • Developed & formulated by Dr. Maria Romanó, DVM, M.Sc, who worked with Dr. Vinge ND, B.Sc and Dr. Wijesundera MD.

Comments about NHV Maris for Dog Constipation:

My 15 year old dog never had constipation but somehow didn't have a bowl movement for four days. Since he was suffering from kidney failure, his vet didn't want to give him any medicine saying he shouldn't take anything not natural. Since I had already found Petwellbeing and was giving him "Tripcy", I ordered Maris immediately for fastest delivery. On the second day on Maris, he had a smooth passing of feces and I haven't had to use it ever since. He is now on Tripcy, Old timer and ES Clear and is doing well. Petwellbeing is a life saver!

Comments about NHV Maris for Dog Constipation:

I have a 16 yr. old female Llasa Apso who has been struggling with cartilage cancer for 4 years. Her tumor covers her hip and extends beyond her knee cap making walking almost impossible. I have to use a harness to enable her to do her business. She was experiencing difficulty in "pooping" and I read about Maris. She, Lilli, has had no difficulty since my using it. I give her a squirtfull after every meal. The tumor takes a lot of the nourishment I provide her so I feed her three times a day with all holistic food purchased at holistic health food stores.

        Ingredients

        • Cascara Sagrada: This is the bark of the buckthorn tree used by First Nations healers for centuries. It is a medium-strength laxative that affects the large intestine. It works to restore intestinal tone and muscle activity without causing any astringent effects or cramping
        • Marshmallow: Useful for treating inflammation. Naturopaths also use marshmellow root and leaves to soothe and soften irritated tissues.
        • Fennel: It works to prevent the formation of gas in the alimentary tract and also eases its’ passing. Fennel also helps relieve stomach cramps and stimulates digestive nutrition while working as an anti-inflammatory. Most dogs and cats like its taste very much.
        • Ginger: This also works to prevent the formation of gas while improving peristalsis and intestinal muscle tone. Furthermore, it’s a natural antispasmodic that will help treat colic.
        • Ginseng: Renowned for its capacity to increase energy, Asian Ginseng will help your pets revitalize themselves sooner. This is an adaptogenic herb that helps to reinvigorate animals and increase their resistance to disease.
        • Dandelion: It works as a tonic that gently purifies and improves your pet’s gastrointestinal system. Dandelion has both anti-inflammatory and laxative effects, while also improving digestion. It is extremely high in both vitamins and nutritional value.
        • Peppermint: This has long been used to treat stomach conditions and to alleviate the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. It has been shown to retard the growth of bacteria, while improving digestion and facilitating gas elimination. It has a mild anesthetic effect.

        • Question:

Our dog Caffrey was diagnosed with peri-"rear end" (I'm able to submit e-mail with actual scientific name) adeno carcinoma, a fairly aggressive malignant tumor in her "rear end" canal in September 2011. She has been taking piroxicam for pain/inflammation since diagnosis and we recently started her on MiraLAX to help her go to the bathroom more easily. We've noticed in the past week that she is losing interest in attempting to defecate, it takes several attempts to produce any kind of result, I assume from the pain and difficulty of it (as the mass grows, her canal gets narrower and the eventual cause of our having to make a very difficult decision when she can no longer defecate). I was curious if this product may help under these circumstances. I am also considering the Cancer Support Kit. Any thoughts and advice are appreciated. We are open to other pet well being products if you think they are better suited for this particular situation.

            Answer:

The Maris would definitely be helpful for you pet's in bowel congestion and helping with any discomfort that may be due to inflammation. There are also ingredients that have been shown to retard the growth of bacteria, while improving digestion and facilitating gas elimination. It has a mild anesthetic effect. The Cancer Kit in conjunction with the Maris may help also to decrease the size of the tumor and support the immune system.

            Answer:

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately our supplements are not suited for puppies of that age. I would suggest consulting with your veterinarian to get a recommendation for a supplement or medication that will be more suitable.

My 14 year old cockapoo has a perianal hernia and has difficulty pooping. Is Maris suitable for this condition?

            Answer:

Maris helps to improve the health of the digestive system, but it is not a laxative. One of the cautionary notes is that it should not be used if there is a narrowing anywhere along the digestive tract. Your vet would be able to advise you on this issue. You can print the cautionary notes and ingredients from the following link to provide to your vet: http://www.petwellbeing.com/products/maris-for-canines#directions

        • Question:

We have a little Chihuahua female who is constipated all the time. I was told by the Vet. to give her some pumpkin baby food to help. Unable to find the pumpkin, we chose squash. No improvement. She is nearly 3 years old and has had to have the glands cleaned several times. I am very concerned there is something more involved. She struggles so badly just to squeeze out what looks like little beads strung together. She then scoots on her bottom. Something is wrong! Dr. tells us to watch her water intake and her diet.
