Verve is a complete nutritious meal in itself. It’s full of natural healthy foods like organic grains, hormone free meat, non genetically modified fruits and vegetables. Comments about The Honest Kitchen Verve Dog Food:
I started buying your products… My two youngest went crazy over Verve. As soon as they finish, they try to eat the oldest girls' portion (she's a bit slower)… Thank you for making a product I can trust and that I know is good for my "kids".

Directions
Verve raw dehydrated dog food acts as standalone meals. These meals are nutritionally complete to keep your dog happy and healthy. However, many people like to use Verve, as a supplement to an already raw or homemade dog food diet.
Keep in mind that making the switch to a raw dehydrated food from commercial kibble or canned food is easier for your pet if you transit them to the new food slowly. By switching the food in this way, the dog’s intestinal flora has time to adapt and will become more efficient at digesting the new food.
If your pet is already on a raw food diet, then you can mix hydrated Verve into the dog’s normal diet right away. If this is a new kind of food for your dog, then introduce Verve gradually over several days to a week. Mix a little Verve, according to the instructions, and stir into your dogs’ normal kibble or canned food. Over the next couple of days, slowly reduce the amount of dry or canned food served and increase the amount of Verve until the mixture is one to one. Then carry on in the same way so that the old dog food is slowly reduced until you are feeding only Verve.
Mixing Instructions
Verve raw dehydrated foods, should be mixed with 1 to 1 ½
cups of warm water. Stir well, then let sit for a good 5 – 10
minutes for the mixture to hydrate properly. When it is ready, it
will resemble oatmeal or a stew. The way in which the food is
dehydrated, maintains the bright color of the ingredients. Once the
mixture is ready, you can add in up to ½ cup of your
pet’s favorite extras like meat, vegetables, fruit, or even
bones. At this point, serve the meal right away instead of waiting.
If the food is not totally consumed at one time, refrigerate the
leftovers. If there is still some of this same food left after 48
hours, it’s time to throw it out and start fresh.
Yield Guidelines
By following the guidelines, this hydrated raw dog food produces
the following yields:
| 4 oz. - (1 cup) | Makes approx. 1 lb of fresh food |
| 4 lbs - (16 to 17 cups) | Makes approx. 16 to 17 lbs of fresh food |
| 10 lbs - (40 to 43 cups) | Makes approx. 40 to 43 lbs of fresh food |
Feeding Guidelines
Honest Kitchen Verve should be measured and served based on the
dog’s weight and type of lifestyle. Be sure to mix as per the
instructions. The following chart can be adjusted as required for
the different breeds, ages and levels of activity for each dog. The
chart is as follows:
| Weight | Less Active Lifestyle | Very Active Lifestyle |
| Up to 10 lbs | 1 Cup | 1 Cup |
| Up to 30 lbs | 1 Cup | 2 Cups |
| Up to 50 lbs | 2 Cups | 4 Cups |
| Up to 70 lbs | 2 1/4 Cups | 4 1/2 Cups |
| Up to 90 lbs | 2 3/4 Cups | 5 1/2 Cups |
Some dogs will require more and some less. Start with the proper measurement, and consider that although it may not appear to be enough for some dogs, you can add in from ½ to 1 cup of additional fresh food to each serving. For best results, wait until Verve is well hydrated before adding in fresh food.

Is this food acceptable for dogs on a renal diet? We have just started our dog on k/d diet 2 weeks ago. Just searching around particularly interested in holistic.Asked on 12/16/2011 by fea from Lusby Maryland1 answer
Answer:
I would suggest looking into the Embark Dog Food: http://www.petwellbeing.com/products/embark-dog-food#ingredients as it is grain and gluten free and has small amounts of protein.
Embark is superior in nutrition to commercial dog foods and was designed to be as healthy as raw homemade diets (without the mess or effort of cooking it yourself). Embark was specifically developed for dogs with sensitive stomachs and other chronic ailments that may have resulted from eating grains and gluten. By removing these ingredients from a dog's diet, many animals quickly find relief and return to vibrant health.Answered on 12/19/2011 by Anonymous
Question:
which of your foods do you recomend for a dog with kidney failureAsked on 12/14/2011 by Anonymous1 answer
Answer:
We suggest a food that is gluten and grain free by Honest Kitchen with a small amount of protein within it. I would suggest our Force: http://www.petwellbeing.com/products/force-dog-food
Force can be fed alone or as a supplement to any homemade food diet that your pet currently enjoys. Raw dehydrated food is different from the more conventional kibble or even cooked and processed foods, it is important to allow enough time for your pet to adjust to the change in diet.Answered on 12/19/2011 by Anonymous
