Description
What is Maris?
Maris is a safe, powerful herbal supplement that helps to alleviate many causes and symptoms of constipation in your pet. The herbs in Maris help to ease and nurture your pet's gastrointestinal system while they stimulate digestion, ease passage of stool, and purify the gastrointestinal tract. This herbal formula addresses many causes of your animal’s discomfort, reducing inflammation and irritation while promoting easy bowel movements.
Your pet, their diet, constipation and flatulence
Constipation and flatulence are common problems in cats. Particularly as they age. They aren’t diseases, as such. They’re simply signs that there is some kind of problem in your pet’s gastrointestinal system. These problems can be caused by a number of different things, even though the symptoms you see are all very similar. The problem may be something your pet has eaten and can’t digest, a parasite or an infection they have picked up. Either way, they are uncomfortable and unhappy, and can use your help in making their discomfort go away.

Can Maris really help my pet’s constipation and discomfort?
We hope so. The ingredients have all been chosen by experts for the benefits they offer animals’ gastrointestinal tracts. They should relieve congestion and help your animal to have healthy, easy bowel movements.
How long does it take before I see results?
Maris should start working quickly. Just as soon as the ingredients can pass through your pet’s gastrointestinal system.
Does Maris cause any side effects?
No, these are just natural herbs. However, do not give Maris to your pet if it is pregnant, or if you know it has a bowel obstruction or any disease that creates a narrowing anywhere in the digestive tract.
Is it difficult to administer?
No. We know how difficult it is to give animals pills. That’s why MARIS is a liquid and comes with an eyedropper. You can either add it to your pet’s food, or just put the drops in its mouth.
Should I consult my vet before using it?
This is a safe, natural supplement. However, if your vet is prescribing other treatment, it’s always good check with him before giving it to your pet.

Comments about NHV Maris for Cat Constipation:
This product is the answer. My older cat has something called megacolon. I have tried every natural product out there that he would tolerate even putting pumpkin in his food. With this product I just add it to his wet food in the morning (according to his weight) and it has helped tremendously. I'm back for my second bottle. Thanks

Comments about NHV Maris for Cat Constipation:
I am treating a cat with IBD. The common treatment for this condition is not only harsh with many side effects, but my vet could not guarantee it would even work. She knows I use alternative medicine as often as possible. She recommended I find one that works for this condition and I did. I simply add it to her food and she is good to go!

Comments about NHV Maris for Cat Constipation:
I have 2 long haired cats with constipation and hairball issues and this product has really helped them. I dose them every other day to keep their bowels moving and they will have a BM usually within 1 hour of administration. It appears to be gentle as it never has caused diarrhea and they tolerate the dosing well. It has also done wonders for preventing hairballs. My kitties are much more comfortable now.
I also have a 5-yr old cat with bouts of colitis and enteritis since he was a kitten. I was hoping this would help his constipation & inflammation, but, unfortunately, we had to start him on Prednisone to ease his pain. The Maris did not seem to agree with him, as he just looked more uncomfortable. I think his situation may be too complicated for the Maris to cure. He does eat human grade chicken breast, turkey and salmon to try and help control his inflammation but diet alone has not worked either. Any suggestions to help my boy is greatly appreciated!

Comments about NHV Maris for Cat Constipation:
It seems to be working well and for me it's easier to use the dropper in their mouth rather than trying to get a pill down their throats as with some other solutions. The dosage recommendations (drops per weight)are a bit vague- I was told to put the drops on food where I prefer to use the dropper in the mouth method where you know they got it. Overall, I'd recommend it.

Ingredients
- Cascara Sagrada: This is the bark of the buckthorn tree used by First Nations healers for centuries. It is a medium-strength laxative that affects the large intestine. It works to restore intestinal tone and muscle activity without causing any astringent effects or cramping
- Marshmallow: Useful for treating inflammation. Naturopaths also use marshmellow root and leaves to soothe and soften irritated tissues.
- Fennel: It works to prevent the formation of gas in the alimentary tract and also eases its’ passing. Fennel also helps relieve stomach cramps and stimulates digestive nutrition while working as an anti-inflammatory. Most dogs and cats like its taste very much.
- Ginger: This also works to prevent the formation of gas while improving peristalsis and intestinal muscle tone. Furthermore, it’s a natural antispasmodic that will help treat colic.
- Ginseng: Renowned for its capacity to increase energy, Asian Ginseng will help your pets revitalize themselves sooner. This is an adaptogenic herb that helps to reinvigorate animals and increase their resistance to disease.
- Dandelion: It works as a tonic that gently purifies and improves your pet’s gastrointestinal system. Dandelion has both anti-inflammatory and laxative effects, while also improving digestion. It is extremely high in both vitamins and nutritional value.
- Peppermint: This has long been used to treat stomach conditions and to alleviate the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. It has been shown to retard the growth of bacteria, while improving digestion and facilitating gas elimination. It has a mild anesthetic effect.

Answer:
Our Maris is formulated to relieve bowel congestion by softening the stool. It also helps to reduce painful inflammation and relieve stomach cramps and stimulates digestive nutrition while working as an anti-inflammatory.Answered on 1/30/2012 by Coreena
Question:
My cat has had Colectomy / subtotal surgery. Her stool is very soft. Will Maris help with this problem?Asked on 11/12/2011 by Anonymous from Auburndale, FL1 answer
Answer:
If she has soft, loose, stools I'd recommend our Plantaeris product over our Maris formula. Maris is recommended if your cat is constipated or has trouble (straining) while attempting to defecate. If the stools are soft or loose, Plantaeris would be the better product to regulate her GI tract in order to alleviate diarrhea or to firm up loose stools. It also promotes intestinal functions to aid in digestion as well; you can read more information here: http://www.petwellbeing.com/products/cat-diarrhea.Answered on 11/14/2011 by Customer Care from CSR Office

Question:
My 13 year old cat has a long history of constipation and while Maris seemed to help; what seems to have really helped is the mostly raw food diet introduced this last year including mineral oil daily. He has used up two bottles of Maris which I'm sure was helpful but alone, didn't solve the problem. I have to reorder the Resthryo (he still lost 5 pounds this last year (13 to 8 lbs) I am not giving up on that in favor of medication as personally I feel my cat is stressed because his perch was stolen and i have been as well and he mimic's me. Around 2006, he was diagnosed with crystals in his urine and they wanted him on Vet formulary and that's when put him on TOP QUALITY dry food and subsequently added the raw food. Today, I see that Maris is really not for long term use so is there dander to suddently stop use of this? It's already very expensive to get the Tripsy and Resthryo and even considering milk thistle. Please help and don't ask me to ask vet as they don't know herbals.Asked on 10/25/2011 by chellamia from St Petersburg, Fl1 answer
Answer:
Our Maris is completely safe to discontinue use. The only cautionary note we have regarding the Maris is that in long term use it can cause electrolyte imbalances.
To decrease the chance of that from happening we suggest an electrolyte formula:http://www.petwellbeing.com/products/nupro-electrolyte-formula-small-dogs -- It does show that this supplement is for dogs but it is extremely safe for cat use as well and can be used with the other supplements you have him on.Answered on 10/25/2011 by Customer Care from CSR Office
