I am treating a cat with IBD. The common treatment for this condition is not only harsh with many side effects, but my vet could not guarantee it would even work. She knows I use alternative medicine as often as possible. She recommended I find one that works for this condition and I did. I simply add it to her food and she is good to go!

I am sure the product is great and would work, but i am having a heck of a time administering it to my animals. The male cat gags and foams at the mouth. The female is not quite that bad. They both fight me and run when they see me coming. I have tried it in tuna fish and they nibble a little and carry on, so that didn't quite work. Does anyone have other suggestions????? Please - i will try anything!!!!

This product is the answer. My older cat has something called megacolon. I have tried every natural product out there that he would tolerate even putting pumpkin in his food. Things that are great about Smooth BM Gold: it is available without prescription and visiting a vet, it eventually works with lasting relief, works very gently without causing too soft stool, and not harmful to a cat.
The only drawback is it's taste: my cat despices it, and shrugs for some time after it administration.
It solved the problem with constirpation, so I recommend to have this product in your cat's first aid kit.

My 18 yr old cat was very constipated, only having a bowel movement every week or so and always on my floor with vomit from her struggles - poor thing. It seems to be working well and for me it's easier to use the dropper in their mouth rather than trying to get a pill down their throats as with some other solutions. The dosage recommendations (drops per weight)are a bit vague- I was told to put the drops on food where I prefer to use the dropper in the mouth method where you know they got it. Overall, I'd recommend it.

I found this product totally ineffective using the prescribed dosage. Since it does not seem to have any negative side effects, I increased the dosage from the prescribed 5 drops for my 10 pound cat each day. I am now administering twice the dosage (10 drops) and it is finally having some effect.

Directions
Administer product orally twice daily. Give one drop for every 2 lb (1kg) of body weight up to 50 lb. Over 50 lb, add one drop per additional 4 lb (2kg).

Ingredients
- Haritaki fruit (Terminalia chebula): This tall south Asian tree produces a deeply ridged fruit that is picked when still green. It is best known for its use in digestion and is also considered a gentle “restorative” for circulatory and respiratory systems. It has been used for flatulence.
- Amalaki fruit (Phyllanthus officinalis): An edible fruit, Amalaki (Amla) is also sold under the name Indian Gooseberry. Its high Vitamin C content contributes to its nutritive value and it has been used to support the liver, healthy triglyceride levels and digestion.
- Bibhitaki fruit (Terminalia bellirica): The third component in the Triphala formula, this fruit has wide uses for digestion but also has applications in the lungs, for the skin, liver and throat.
